How do...

So I've always wanted a range rover and this decoupled the trigger on a RR vogue tdv8 on a 2008 plate so the facelift model on the previous

Its in immaculate condition with every extra I could want on a luxury suv but I have to ask everyone what should lookm out for in the coming months to prevent major issues? Its done 116000 miles 2 owners with full la driver history with every receipt spent....

Thanks in advance

Welcome to LZ.
Try posting in the "introduce yourself" section first, this section is more for the technical aspects of the RR, after you've been introduced.

I'd say just drive the thing, but do check in the history if it's had a gearbox service, if the answer is yes it's probably a lie, only way to be sure is take a sample of oil and study it, if it's dark and smelly it need changed, asap. The six speeder is pretty robust.

I've heard the mafs get injested and ruin the turbos.
Also heard of turbo oil line issues, good luck checking those.

Get your coolant and brake fluid checked.

You have Brembo front calipers, they deserve clean fluid.

No idea on other foibles.

Did you get 2 keys?

Is the air suspension all good, no dropping overnight, no pump running for ages?

Cheers buddy. Well it has a massive folder of receipts mostly land rover for work carried out from both owners. I'll get my nose into that lot as soon as i pick her up later this week and look for some of the pointers you mention.

Is the reason they may not have had the gearbox oil changed due to it being to difficult to do or too expensive? It'll be one of the first things I have done...

LR say the box is sealed for life, but define life!

Also, some dealers have charged customers for work which was never done, particularly things like oils where the average punter is unlikely to check.

It's usually in second or third ownership that the lifespan of the g/box is measured. £5000 for a new box fitted I believe @ LR.

Yours is the newer box which was improved upon over the earlier incarnation and it's fairly robust, save for one or two electronic issues I believe. (credit to Bemble for that info).
Have a gander through the history, see what's been done.

I'm sure you've got a cracking motor but ultimately we are all gamblers, unless you have a top notch warranty.

Did you buy private or trade?

Bought trade and taking out warranty which covers absolutely everything. Will update once we'e got the rreceipts

Got to agree warranty is a wise move. Spend the most you can on a warranty now and save a load of heartache down the line. Although heartache will still be part of your life now you own a Range Rover.
On the flip side, joy will also be a part of it. Drive her, enjoy her and save the worry for when you need it.
Welcome to our world :D
