this is probably blasphemy, but wasnt there a wilies jeep before there was a landrover and wasnt the latter based on the former.

kinda, the original landy designer had a jeep but when he got fed up fixing he thought he could do better, so he did

the S1 prototype was bassed on a ww2 jeep but the modern jeep has nothing to do with the its ww2 namesake
