But when you come to sell everyone will think you are hiding something. If you are keeping then this does not matter of course.

I really want to chequer plate my bonnet however i'm not prepared to pay the extortionate price wanted for just a bonnet chunk. Not really a fan of it down the sides but it's everyone to their own.

Tread plate on the vertical surfaces is really useful for grip when standing on the side of your car.. :)

I do want to do it on mine but worried it will trap water and rot the hell out of the bottom of the panels

A few things to think about.....

Buy the right kit to go with your body mouldings.

I bought one for a Disco with no mouldings and then had to trim them all back. With hindsight, I'd have removed the mouldings before I fitted them, that way it would avoid the aggro of refitting the mouldings post respray.

Mr Noisy did the opposite, bought a pair for a Disco with mouldings and fitted them to a Disco without leaving a gap. Come on Sam, post us a piccie.

Make sure you get them all cut out of the same plate so the pattern matches (OCD) otherwise it can look a real bodge.

Black all the way!
