Just bought a tub of Brass & Alloy Cleaner from Ebay, similar to Autosol but on £5 for 500grams (Autosol £4 for 90ml) so much cheaper. Only cleaner s sample patch, but came up real clean in seconds. Will get a drill and a polishing head on in next weekend :-D.... ...sorry lol.

I know all you closet chequer platers are out there polishing!

I do reckon you should ditch the chequer though, wing tops I can stomach but all that crap down the sides. NOOOOO. If you can't bare the thought of that, then matt black it and no polishing will be necessary.

That will give you more time to get out of the smoke and play.

I like chequer plate, but there is a bit too much for my liking on my car, especially when it looks like its been on for ages. I'll give it a clean, if it starts to look a bit odd I'll do them black. Would take some side bits of but I'm guessing it'll be a bit nasty under it.

I'd love to get out of London and try a few hills/mud, need to sort the MPG out first, it's got an single point LPG system on there (just set up as well) and I'm only getting 100miles for 50litres! thats about 9mpg! :-( and I'm driving carefully without too many stops, not too sure how long I can keep it tell you the truth.

Mines a 3.5 V8 Auto with 4 barrel weber/edelbrock setup. Only running on petrol currently but I will get an LPG conversion when petrol goes back up. I have to stop for fuel every 120 miles :eek: so I only really use it at weekends for fun. :D
