Try both before buying, you may prefer one to the other a lot
Yeah I suppose thats a good idea. Each will feel very powerful anyways as I will be going from a 1.2 engine so. I'll need to get some test drives booked soon!

Best choices, the two best Diesels there

TDI200 a bit old for spares. TDCI crap

TDI300 is reliable and parts are available

TD5 is powerful, reliable and sounds great
V8 sounds nice but old and no quicker than a worked on TD5

"TDCI crap" ........ Interesting comment!!! As I am in the process of looking for a newish 110 XS USW what makes you say this?? A recent article in LRO magazine made good and bad comments on all engine variants but concluded that if you can afford one then the newest engine (2.2) is the overall best option.

They aren't a good engine in a landrover. Power characteristics are not ideal, and the high torque loadings mess up the dual mass flywheels. Nice engine in me auto Mondeo! :)

Tdci is nice and quite and fast and light but the pulling power isn't a patch compared to the td5 reliability tdci all the way unless it is our one
However the tdci likes to jump out of diff lock much easier for some reason and body panels feel flimsy compared to older Landrovers

Rough, not very powerful, not as reliable as the LR designed lumps.

Drove one then straight after a TD5, TD5 is a LOT better.

I recently had a drive in a new Tdci Defender. Whilst not hating it, I didn't enjoy it. I was glad when I got back into my 200tdi 90

My Discovery 2 was much better as well, could not think of any reason to prefer a TDCI 110 over my D2

One thing to check is that your BUPA membership covers phsyciatric help, could be vital.

Ask the seller to water hose down over the driver door and passenger door. If they don't leak while sitting there cancel buying.:p:p:p:p:p:p;)
