You can get challengers for £95 each which I thought was a good price, I'd buy Mach 5s if I was seriously competing in winch challenges or comps where you need a strong wheel but in my case I do p&p's plus rtv's so I just bought them for the offset which is -25 and the looks. The quality is good for the price and they come powder coated in any colour as long as its black!
 
Yes, most challenge boys prefer modulars cos they are cheap and dont get hooked up on stuff like mach's

I kinda prefer the look tbh, a nice set of black offset modulars looks good on most, or silver depending on the vehicle and at £40 a wheel cant go wrong
 
The defender I'm looking at is a black XS 110 station wagon and currently has silver boost wheels. Modular's look fine but I personally prefer the Mach 5 look. Plus I'm sure they'd be easy to sell on if I eventually sold the defender on its original wheels.

eBay looks like a decent place to buy at around £155 each for wheels only. I also noticed the SVX alloys going quite cheaply.
