Try Thunderpole, they do some good basic starter kits CB Radios, CB Radio Antennas, CB Radio Accessories, CB Radio Shop | THUNDERPOLE.co.uk Their own Thunderple 1000 is said to be a good little unit.
I'm running a Maas 8040 Colonia which is brilliant - it uses a Uniden board which is about the best you can buy, and the performance/clarity of this is superb Package Deals & Starter Packs - 4x4 Packages - BasicPLUS Offroader : 4x4 - Maas KCB-8040 Colonia Package Deal
Also have a look at Knights - Knights Electrocom
These three are probably the top UK suppliers and all are reputable. Don't forget you MUST SWR your CB before using it

cheapest, buy used on ebay, got my first setup for £35 in total, just bought an "upgrade" CB for £25

" cobra cb radio" is £39.99 and its great piece off kit , all you need to do is plug it in cig lighter , u will need to buy an ariel tho but can pick them up cheap off ebay
this will be fine as a starter
