Black iron. Good enough for the victoriansYes, that and the supplied exhaust pipe is single skin junk, the proper gear is double skinned, but even that has a limited life.

I’ve gone and ordered another one.
Encased this time.
Wonder if it’s becoming a problem
£83 this one. Got it as a standby for emergencies.I bought one for our boat/fitted it was very pleased, so bought another/test ran it then stored it up the loft.
The thinking (if you can call it that) was that two cdh were less money than the cost of the parts needed to fix my 30 yrs old Webasto.

I have 2 off these heater . I use one for heating my outside hot tub enclosure and as a dryer to help dry me off . The 2nd i have is a portable one that comes in it's own enclosure so that it can be used anywhere ( it's smaller than a portable DIY mig welder ) . I have never had any real problems in 5 years since owning them ( one pump and 2 temp sensors which are cheap enough to purchase anyways) . Only real concern ( just my thoughts) is the exhaust . I just wish that they threaded the exhaust port so that could screw exhaust on . I dont really care for the supplied exhaust ( my heater for hot tub is outside and the heat is vented through the wall , so no exhaust fumes ) . The portable one I do use in the landy , but with door ajar or window open ( its just to melt snow or ice before driving as My normal heater is toastie ( just takes a little while to defrost all the windows ) .
Also ideal if working under vehicle as can point the heating duct where you want . I did find that most of the claimed KW are wildly exaggerated... just look at the external measurements as the 2kw are smaller . 5KW is the norm . but like i said exaggarated claims , just to sell or justify a higher price.. .
Quite a few vids on youtube.
The 2KW is the smallest measument , which it is a 2kw and not a 3/5 ...... the 3/5 are slightly bigger .. there is no such thing as an 8kwHow I understand it is, there are two basic chassis the 2kw and the 5kw, 2kw often listed as 2 to 5kw and the 5 often listed as 5 to 8 kw.
Just found this . as you can see the size difference , between a 2kw and a 3/5 kw .. 2kw is all you need for a vehicle , a shed or wrokshop etc get the 3/5 kw
Yes . and easily available .. The point is , the 2kw is smaller , easier to fit into a vehicle and is more than enough to heat a vehicle and cheaper to run than the 3/5 kw as it uses less ( not much less) diesel /parrafin . .. All the " 8KW" are , are the 3/5 KW heaters with a different controller , You just turn the controller to max on the 3/5 and it will produce the same heat as the "8kw" ( which isn't an 8kw ) Just don't be fooled by the marketing crap they come out with so that you pay more . I don't see why people should get ripped off , when they are struggling . Plenty of reviews , just take time and save yourself some moneyThe 5kw is great, but all the trunking is quite a bit larger than the 2kw version.

Hell fire, they have shot up in price. Must be the Chinese manufacturing side of things.Chris, I have two of the larger machines, they have gotten expensive this year nearly double what I paid last year!
