could anyone tell me of a place where i can order the rear part of my chassis to be welded in i have checked a few web sites but aint having much luck
:(

do you mean you are going to do the work yourself or you want someone to do it for you?

I assume you mean the rear cross-member, with chassis extensions.
My local indy charges 300 quid plus VAT to supply and fit - he does a top job too.

yes and no really.
the bolts holding the tub on will be a bastid to get undone. the wiring loom goes through the chassis and that can be a pig too.
to do a proper job, you need to remove the tub (or at least jack it up high) to weld the top bit of the chassis rails.
not technically difficult, just ball-breaking and time consuming.

You can do a better job of it if you take the rear tub off, the you can get a good weld all round the new piece then.

Trewy, could yer lerrus no where you go with yours, i guess you've a reliable one? Not sure mine is 100% and yours is prob closer to me as well!Ta

I use Chris at Trevecca LR. His place is at Merrymeet, between Liskeard and Callington.
He can be a funny bugger, but really knows his stuff and carrys a huge stock of bits (usually cheaper than Paddocks too).
Just get him talking about Steam Engines and you'll get along fine.

I know someone who cut the floor on the tub to weld the top of the chassis.

Then just riveted a slightly bigger piece back in.
