It's flaking off a bit in places but I only seen one hole but now he's put tank back in (long range big ####er) can't see rails as well now, I looked before and sounded solid when I hit it... I used to have an s3 1979 and sure that was fine with weld all over it, this is a 2004 wtf
 
TBH the Germans don't usually get involved in welding repairs they just throw it away and replace. Their repairs have to go through serious inspection and I heard x ray welds (sounds extreme so could be bollix) but it sounds about right for an EU run country.

Yes I think ur right, I looked up the tuv test and its much tougher than mot , a different German dude didn't seem to agree with boss German , but only told us in private, this country is full of bs so never know who to believe. Compared chassis to much older Toyota, jeep, dodge, Mercedes and looks like lr did a puss poor job with it, real shame but hope with some tlc we can keep it going as this was supposed to last years
