hello all.
I have a land rover discovery 2 2001 model and i have noticed that the chassis is bad in a few places and is rusting through mainly at the rear where it bends up at the fuel tank.
I am thinking of getting a mig and welding it up and wondered if any one has expierance in this field as i am thinking of getting a 90 or 100 amp plus hobby welder like a clarke or sip or something and wondered if this welder would be adequate.
Also what gauge of steel is best for welding the chassis as i will need a welder suitable for this.
And any welding or fabricating tips would be usefull.I plan to grind parts back to metal weld it rust treat it with jenolite or something and then hammerite it or something.
Any advice would be greatly apprieciated
many thanks
guy
