I remember within the last 12 months looking at Richards chassis' site and dreaming of a new chassis for my 109 station wagon. I'm sure I could have got one for about 1900 all in.
Seems now that the same would cost me about 2600. That's some increase, the dream is fading.

Ouch! If that's correct that's an unreasonable increase. Richards have a monopoly it seems.
 
Just ordered my 88 chassis with a couple of mods from their list came in at £2000.40 delivered with 10 week lead time.
 
I thought someone on here may have an idea as to why the prices have risen so much.
I believe steel prices are reasonable at present.
Perhaps due to land rovers being renovated by companies and realising good sale prices.
 
last time I looked at Richards you could get an s3 88 for £1,100 - couple of years ago I think but could be longer - maybe the company wasn't making any money and realised it wasn't charging enough

I notice designachassis don't have prices up, you have to call to find the price
 
When I bought mine Richards where working 2 shifts to keep up with demand ! Market forces mean if you have the monopoly you charge more
 
The international shortage of imperial holes is to blame. Richards use loads of em in an 88 chassis. The shortage is due to a French steel industry mistake when misunderstanding the new A hole, a standard in bicycle manufacturing. Every bike now has at least one A hole sometimes more.
