hi, trying to find chassis number on 1973 diesel series 3 - any ideas where someone may have hidden it?

Looks like had a replacement chassis at some point but no history to prove this but can't seem to locate a number and MOT failure without.

HELP

Its on the front leg of the chassis, under the wheel arch..on drivers side..probably covered in poo, waxoyl and badger blood...IF it has one..sometimes they disappear if theres been welding done.

If you cant find it...then its illegal to buy a tap-die set and make a thin plate and weld it on..covering it with waxoyl again etc etc..i would never do this or recommend that you do this, never ever.

so but you cannot get replacement vin plates from landrover with documents??

Not when you're at the mot centre in denmark and he says 'come back in 2 hours, i'm sure you'll think of summat'..

And it aint the vin plate he's after...its the chassis number which is indented (sorry, epic english fail) on the chassis leg.
