our local recycling and refuse center has a bin for almost everything including plaster board only and porcelin only.
the downside is the walk up big steps to fill the comercial sized skips for most stuff.
brick and concrete, electricals, waste oil, tinned paints, old tyres and wheels.
then paper and books are in dedicated floor level bins..

they used to have a commercial only area for unloading, but think thats now gone,
and strangely they had an ANPR cam in the entrance for a while, but thats now gone also....
due to the size and spread areas of sitings of the dedicated bins, its sometimes easier to tip one lot then drive out to drive back in next to a nearer dedicated bin, so its a good job they dont count your visits...
another strange bin is for wood.... its got to be wood only, nothing else that looks like wood, or attached to the wood....I think its shredded then squeased out as pellets for heating systems....
oh, onther strange thing is, if you unload something of value *bootsale items* a site employee magically apears to help you dispose of it carefully behind the workmans teabreak\ rest room..
just how it gets disposed of in its dedicated bin is a mystery..

I normally used my standard disco 7 seater plus trailor with no problems, even used the back box on my scooter to carry some 5 litre cans of old oil once, but car drivers seem to want the space the scooter took up, so i took my time.....
I pay my taxes on all 3 vehicles, plus my expensive council taxes with NO retirees discounted amounts....

My local tip never question any of the landrovers Iv taken but they don't like having to open the barrier for me. They like it even less though if I drive straight in and rip the sign off the barrier with the roof bars on the 110! :D

2m height bar at mine though but they will open it if prearranged

My local tip has a similar height bar, I turned up in the Landrover with the ragtop on and the winker from the council would not open the height bar for me, so I started carrying on with him but to no avail. A couple of months later I went up with the truck cab on, drove upto the garden waste skip, the winker in question started saying it was contaminated and not garden waste and asked me to leave, so I started with him again and got a result, it went into the household skip, what a jobsworth :mad:

Same in Trafford, if its under 2m you can drive anything in.
Unfortunately they won't open the height bar, and my Fender measures 195cm. Too risky.................
