yeah, I was gonna post the same thing.

Bastards.

I can only hope the bobblies remember this kind of thing once they're too old/crippled/infirm to manage to walk the route - can't sit in a 4x4 and be driven along it because it's TRO'd...or will it get tarmac'd and landscaped to allow their motorised wheelchairs access??

It _was_ a great lane, awkward, interesting, could be a tad extreme in bad weather, until a few years ago when they started adding gravel and ballast and making water run-off channels, in fact some of them so high they were obstacles themselves!

I agree in many ways with the bobblies that the top was a mess .. too many off-piste activities destroying the areas alongside the track, a well-defined track, not something wide or confined to walls just marked on the ground, but to be fair the whole area is mostly man-made anyway! Most of the hills and tracks wouldn't be there if it wasn't for the generations of miners and guarrymen and railmen indeed not just generations 'cos the area's been mined for millenia ...

Happy I did it many years ago in my old series and again much more recently in the Disco, pity I never got to do it in the 90!!

One day maybe the worm will turn ...
