Firstly let me say sorry for leeching on your forum. I've never owned a landy before but recently I've been lookin to buy a Disco. Found a nice TD5 for sale but apparently the gearbox synchros are knackered. Would it be MEGA expensive to get a new gearbox fitted? Or even get the synchros fixed? I know I probably sound like a complete noob but i know nothing about cars and any help you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated...

not too bad ,easiest lr gearbox to do,better to fix than rusty chassis or ace pipes apart from removal of box

i would say try further than ashcrofts theres **** loads of people do them even probaly somone local that can repair it cheaper than ashcroft

Sadly this forum does seem to atract some rather unsociable "people" tell him to **** off !!that'l be the only language he understands

I do hope you're not referring to me. Not only did i tell him where to look but i also gave him the website link.

If people are too thick to google when they have been told the name of a supplier or even look in a phone book then they deserve the ridicule they get.

Laziness is not a feature i value in people.
