hi lucking for a bit inspiration here , my sons Disco 3 failed to lift whilst on holiday , rescued and brought home on low loader with diagnosis of a faulty compressor, this has now been changed and starts up when engine runs , the previous one didn’t , however the car still won’t lift and the red warning light is on the suspension switch ? , He’s been told all the fault codes need to be removed but we are struggling to get anybody out to do this , cars been stood a week and let down twice , asits right down I’m assuming it’s not driveable to a decent garage , is there anything we are missing or does anyone know a mobile mechanic in Durham area ( Ferryhill ) who is able to do job . Cheers John

You need to read any codes, and address whatever the codes are saying. Simply clearing codes won't help, as the fault will remain, and you'll have no code history to refer back too.

Cheers , yes , trying to get someone to come out is a nightmare no one seems to want to do it , the original diagnosis was the compressor so we changed it , ( a fairly straightforward job ) it immediately fires up so that’s a positive, ( confirming the old one had given up ) but it then stops , if anyone can recommend a mobile mech/ diagnostic man I’d be grateful

If you cannot get anyone to come out why not buy your own code reader? the icarsoft 930 is approximately 100 GBP it will read all the easy use on discovery three clear any code you may have and read any codes but I still left
I would guess to get someone to come out and clear the codes will cost you somewhere near 100 GBP anyway?

After many failed promises of call outs , a mate had access to diagnostic kit ( which I’ve ordered still not delivered ) , turns out the vehicle had defaulted into ‘ manufactures mode ‘ preventing suspension doing anything , reset and working fine . Now need to sort out inoperative electric hand brake
