My 90 is a `94 300tdi.
The doors aren`t too bad at the bottoms at the moment, but when I do change them I want to lose the modern handles.
Can I get 1-piece, Series doors with the old fashioned handles to fit? I dont mind wind up or sliding windows but would like to know my options.
Would my existing keys/barrels fit series door or not?

I cant believe no-one knows about this stuff. :confused:
Oh and in case i get told to `search`, i have tried but nothing relevant came up. :rolleyes: :)
Have I really got to wait for Land Rover International to do an appropriate article? That could be a while. Mind you there`s no hurry.
 
the early 90 110 had lift up handles an wind up windows but be prepared to do lots of refurb work to them

I can't believe ya int found owt in ya search we was discussing which doors were fitted to which 90/110 and what year they changed over. & it was only in the last week or so..
 
I think he wants to know if new locks etc fit the old doors. I'm gonna be doing this conversion soon so will keep ya inthelnow
 
The question is clearly about fitting old style series doors to a 300tdi. First question WTF? Second question - I presume you don't want to change anything else?

I think there is some issue with the front of the doors aligning, and this may cause you to have to put a series windscreen in - hopefully somebody will be able to clarify this????

Put a series windscren in?? WTF? Yer bloody roof won't fit then. Series type doors will fit no problem.

i have lift up handles on my d reg 90 and there solid so they are around. cost a fair bit though as there getting rare now. locks? all keys fitt all locks :)
 
A mate of mine has fitted old pattern split doors to his 90, I don't know what problems he had but its a nice job for the following points.

Recessed handles dont get tree damaged

door tops come off for those nice sunny days

you can fit aftermarket door cards with map pockets etc
