anyone know how long it takes to change from air suspension to springs? and how "easy" it is pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :(

Empty your wallet on springs that may not pass the new MOT rather than fix the EAS for peanuts? What a good idea!

Why wouldn't it pass on springs??? No need for the sarcasm it was a question how do you know how much it will cost to put right???

yes but i bet they regret it.if they were meant to have springs r/r would have fitted them.the rides similar to riding downhill on a tea tray with somebody smacking your arse with a spade.mind you ive known people pay good money for that in soho

Valve block ovehaul less than £20, compressor overhaul about the same, sensors about £60 a corner if needed, even if you need new air springs, the total cost is comaparable to the cost of coils.

linzie, what are the problems with your eas?

We drove it back from London to midlands got within 10 mile of home 35mph eas fault dropped to the floor and we brought the plug in kit and brings up loads of faults all valve open then closed so got rid of faults wouldn't bring anything up was ok till went down motorway again then eas fault 35 mph yesterday we replaced the seal in the pump went up within a minute put it to exciting mode put back up worked got in it this am went up again no prob's went down motorway 35mph eas fault got limped home plugged it in rr valve closed won't go up clicked fault again nothing but when u check ride height keeps going up and down as soon as you get out drops to the floor we go on holiday down cornwall in a few weeks so don't want this to happen and can't find a fault on it:mad:

Old range rovers can be costly to repair and air suspension can be very troublesome.
Fit springs and that will be the end of your suspension problems
Very easy ,cheap and range rovers used springs before air suspension came along and you dont here people complaining about the ride or that the suspensions broken do you :D

as datatec said, overhaul kit for valve block,o rings and diaphram, sensors if necessary,a lot cheaper that spring conversion.I dont think he was being sarcastic, there are changes afoot to the mot regs, and conversions or mods may constitute a failure. It sounds like your punp overhaul was succesful if the car lifts quickly between modes.check the outlet pipe, with pump running you should not be able to seal the pipe with your finger.Do you have air leaking from exhaust filter? if so replace the diaphram.

The mot changes will never happen in the case of suspension or engine or brakes or exhaust, I don't think I need to keep going :D as there will be a massive scrap heap of cars that won't pass the mot
I hope you have not fitted spot lamps air horns different bumpers or wheels or even tyres :D

The EU bureauprats (sorry that should be bureaucrats) plan to outlaw all modifications from standard unless the mods have been thorough the homologation proceedure. That even includes exhaust systems.

do you think this will be just for vehicles altered after that date or would include vehicles previously done,it does appear they only want you to lease vehicle from dealerships and scrap them after 6 years like everthing else you buy now ,not designed to be repaired meaning the removal independant garages ,old cars ,individualism etc
