Any one done this before
is there an easy way ?

change the backseat from 96 to a 99 model so the buckle won't fit
please give me some advice

Which buckle? All of them?

The centre lap belt should be ok as it's integrated in the back seat - but for the outer ones, you either have to dig about removing the trim panel (for the LH rear seat - as that's there the split is, and from memory relatively easy to get to) or remove the plastic insert (Between the RH and Centre seats) and then getting a spanner in to undo the bolt that holds the buckle in (it is a tight fit and a pain of a job - I had to remove one from a vehicle myself and a mate were taking apart for spares... I was glad I wasn't having to put a replacement back in again!)

The other option to look at would be swapping the whole seatbelt reel from a later vehicle into your one - so that you don't need to change the buckles. I think the rears are interchangeable - the fronts aren't easily as the later ones have pretensioners on the front seats (but then again, the front buckles are easy to swap!)

Hope this helps,
Marty

Thanks Marty
I figured that one out myself. Getting out won't be the problem
getting in this way will.
there should be an official way !
