I have an interesting question:) I own disco 200tdi and been thinking about getting defender and swop all my bits on to it etc but I like disco just too much rust footwell etc etc and no discovery galvanised chassis where they is galvanised chassis replacement for defender etc

but!! I wonder would a defender body fit onto disco chassis???

just curious

disco has 100" wheelbase, therefore "modifications" required.
has been done many times though.

100" wheelbase okay what kind of mods it is?? I know like padels, gear levers etc etc steering but 90" for defender so means chopping off part of the chassis???? I am interested in this. Also it there an galvanised chassis for disco?? sorry for asking I am newbie on chassis etc

Good question. I've read loads of articles about similar projects and i'll be interested to hear what people say. There are adverts in the mags for loads of galvanised chassis it might be worth giving them a call about a disco chassis?
I think disco restoration will get bigger over the next 5 years, i hope so anyway.

Watch the telly program " A 4x4 is Born" It's a RR chassis but you'll get the gist of it. Way too much hassle imho.

I'm surprised that nobody has produced a fibreglass body to fit the Disco chassis, either in the original Disco style, or as a Defender looky likee.
There must be 1000's of Discos with good chassis, but with knackered bodies.

yeah even a stainless steel body??? anti rust be a good market that is for restoration galvaniased chassis and stainles steel body wow what a 4x4 that would be!!

Why not get an old shell and sort it then have it galvanised. That would last 25 years i bet.
I had considered it with my RRC as I have fiberglass panels on it all ready.
