excuse my ignorance but does a 2002 4l petrol p38 have a timing chain or belt and at what intervals do they need changing ?

 

thought it was mine!

Chain (hidden under the timing chain cover!!)

Thanks for the reply , do they have a service life or just replaced when they get noisy ?
