Hi
The oil was recently changed on my 1999 td5 and I have recently noticed that when your turn off the car after a bit of a drive u can hear a whining vibration noise form the engine

I think this may be the centrifuge oil filter spinning down....Could some one tell me if I am on the right track and if this is normal and why should it only makes noise after the oil and filter was changed.

Could this cause damage in the long term.

The filter is not genuine.....I got it from a well known after market landrover specialist.

I am new to this Model of car and not too sure about a fews things on it

Any guidenece would be appericated

Thanks

yup the spinning will be the rotor filter, you have nothing to worry about, at least you know it spins :)

lots of td5 do this

It seems to vary from filter to filter. The one I've just put in (non-gen.) seems to spin for ages after I turn off. Something you get used to after a while.
