A WORD OF WARNING!!

.........be quick before the sellers get a whiff of the excitement this is causing, notice the sudden run of sales and put the prices up!!!:D:D

:)doh::doh:I hope no sellers read this!!!:eek:)

Got to admit I'm tempted but for 30 notes I'll stick with using the door card!

Might have a spare cup holder for the centre console if you are interested:)
I suspect I may be. I'd have to have a EAS kit off you too if you have any left as I want to get air back under my arse. Coils are driving my last nerve. I want to be able to use my garage again.

Unlimited supply of EAS kits, I make them to order. I'll go look see if I have the cup holder when it stops ****ing down.:)

Now people realise how it's supposed to work there's going to be a world shortage of P38 cup holder gas struts as we scramble to buy one!

No point catching your death for a cup holder. I'll defo have a kit off ya though. Got to help the LZ economy rather than some bay pirate. :p

Mine is exactly the same. I don't have a single cup holder in my P38. Makes long drives a nightmare. At best I wedge a bottle of drink in the door card. But the cupholders can be had for about £30 notes on the Bay, so might have to go on a spending spree.

so, it stopped raining for an hour, I do have a centre console cup holder if you are interested:)

hows everyone got on with this ?

i got a gas strut and replaced it, but the catch isnt great, it unlocks a touch, then you have to give it a helping hand it then takes off/lifts up, also when closing it its not perfect you have to sort of tilt the front down a touch rather than close it straight down

think its a duff catch/button ? can you just replace that button does anyone know ?

not sure if its got anything to do with my one not being an original cup holder one, i put the cup holder in myself last year

Have a look at the window switch panel and make sure that it's properly located. I had the same issue and found that a previous owner had bodged it somewhat.

You can tell the ones on here with working P38s. Nothing left to worry about other than the cup holder doesn't flip up. :) I'll add that to page 6 of my list. :D

Ok, so what does the glovebox strut do?

I don't think mine has one but the glove box still opens!

(I didn't think anything actually fitted the stupid P38 cup holders anyway...)

- it stops the lid falling onto the passenger's shins.

- only those of us with friends need them

:d

thanks, how do you mean exactly should it be ? , it was all out the other week for the clutch job, so its possible it wasnt quite put back right

The bottom, front edge, should have two tongues that fit under the gearshift surround then there's one screw in the centre. At the top there should be two more screws (inside the cubby box). On mine one of the screws had nothing to screw into so the switch panel wasn't square.

Mind you I also found that a good thump with the heel of my hand on the front edge of the box lid bent the hinge back slightly and gained a mm or two !!:D

:D a good thump lol, what on the lid closed ?

im goin got go have a look in a bit and take it apart quick and check its straight, i was a bit dissapointed after fitting the strut lol, hopefully il get it in full order
