Hi All,
The OSF & Rear doors on my 2000 disco td5 would open and only lock by when I press the remote key fob. The rear door failed first which I lived with but now the front drivers door is doing the same and I need the problem resolved.

If anyone knows a DIY walk through or a cheap fix to the problem please let me know.

Thanks in advance
Hugy

Yep, wot they said.
they're about 70-90 quid new, depending on where you buy them. You might find a few second user on the bay.
Replacement is fiddly but fairly straightforward. DO NOT drop the little bent metal link between the lock and the outside handle, trust me, you'll never find it again.

I did read a thread where someone did manage a short term fix by stripping it down and swapping the motors around inside.
I took mine out to have a look and couldn't work out how to strip it down so didn't bother. I didn't want to risk not having a lock to put back it.
Used ones and on ebay or new ones would be the easiest fix. I know how you feel as I need bot n/s and the rear door.

My rear one went about 5 years ago, but haven't got round to it yet!
Drivers door just gone the same two days ago! It does lock okay but only opens with the key.

I 've managed to get a front and rear actuator by contacting a breaker on eBay for a total of £55. There was plenty available all offering the pair for around £55-£70 just contact them direct.
