does anyone know why my passenger door lock wont go down when i lock up
i have to use the key on this side and when i unlock it pops up normally , just wont go down, could it be the acctuator or the lock do you think, jono:confused:

Have you taken the door interior door skin off?

I had a similar problem and found as the lock pokes through the interiour trim if it is not aligned properlly it will jam it.

Try popping the trim off the door and seeing if it still malfunctions.

If it does i would say it would be the actuentor.

Changed the battery on our 1991 Disco which solved a multidude of small electrical faults including this one. :)

ill try and fully charge the battery and see if the fault is still there, failing this theres a spring in the door lock that breaks , you can pick them up on ebay and there a pig to do:eek:

I have a similar thing on my Discovery. I use the remote to lock and all doors lock apart from the drivers door - if i use the key to lock it it goes down fine and when I unlock using the fob, it pops up fine.

I have noticed that the offending door lock "pin" also seems to protrude more on this door than the others. What I've found that helps as a temporary measure is if I push that door pin down slightly before I lock the vehicle, when I use my fob, the door locks properly

Hi folks,

I have a similar problem in that when you put the locks down with the fob or the button there is a slight pause and they all pop back up. If you use the fob this sets of the alarm of course. The car is totaly unlockable.

Its driving be nuts as it doen't happen all the time. Only when your late or in a rush or parking someplace dodgy.

Any ideas?

Felix

The difference being now the key won't manually lock the drivers door, I have already written off one key as its so hard to turn !!!

Any ideas would be welcomed !

you can't beat modern electronics, what would we do wiffoot them on wur cars?

I removed the interior trim from the front door and found that the door button was catching on the trim itself. It seems that when the button met resistance, it instantly popped itself back up again. I straightened out the arm mechanism and ensured that the button cleared the trim and now it works perfectly!!!

I also just took the interior panel off both front doors, checked clearences and sprayed to hell with WD .. Now its spot on ...

Except something has now happened to my alarm ... and seems to want to go off whenever it feels like it  .... Joy !
