Hi guys,
Can you help with this problem please, i have done search but cant find same problem.

Freelander TD4 GS 2003

My car locks as normal with the keyfob and with the dash button, however the problem is with unlocking. When you press the unlock button on keyfob once the drivers door unlocks as it should.
When you press it a second time only the boot unlocks and the other 3 passenger doors do not.
The 3 passenger doors dont unlock with the dash button either so you have to open them manually from the drivers seat.
Once back out the car all doors lock as normal with keyfob.

Please help if you can

LR dealer wants to charge £100 just to put on diagnostics before they can even quote a repair price.

Thanks muchly guys.

dunno what type central lockin you got on yer gaylander, but on me jag the central locking was being real silly. first one door would stay locked then the boot would then another door and so on.
so i pulled the door panels orf and gave it all a good shooshing with some lub..n think it wur a silicon spray i had doing nowt. anyways its works fine now.

It appears that the system operates properly on all functions except one - unlock passenger and rear doors from either remote OR switch on central consol? This would indicate to me that there is a loose connection somewhere on or after the CCU. This is located centrally under the dash. There are also two header connectors (0287 and 0285) for the three doors - one must be for locking and the other unlocking. I'm damned if I can find the location of these - anyone out there assist?
The main thing is that its not 'mission critical' to run to the stealer as the key is disarming security properly and its just inconvenient at the moment.

Am attaching a circuit dia which may be of help. Would be interested in your outcome, Moose. Good luck.

moose check ya fob batt or change it un go through the reset procedure [its in search to long winded ta type out]. . . .un see how ya git on then, see it could be one door contact not making [or breaking] and its on the second blip so yer got er choice of four parts,oh un i forgit, if yer horn toots when lockin wif fob could mean door not shut ,but also replace fob batt. . . .best oh luck earthling. . .:)

Thanks for reply Mr Ming

I started to get excited when you said replace keyfob batteries cause they are about shot - when i unlock and open the drivers door the red dashboard LED flashes and i get a beeping noise - I have just read on another thread that it means keyfob batt is low, so i thought yes thats the problem.
Then i remembered that the 3 pass doors still do not unlock when i use the key in the door which makes me thing it is a problem after all.
I will still change batts though i cant find how to reset keyfobs in any searches, im sure its there somewhere, i will see if its in the manuel.

Thanks for your help

Moose

I'm sure Ming won't mind me jumping in? Attaching text of re-sync. Mings right - simple things first and a battery change won't hurt to eliminate that before progressing on. Will save a chase arse type situation :)
