Hi all, been trying to find an answer to this one but seems there's to many variables!!!
Couple of weeks ago my remote decided to stop unlocking/locking my d2,managed to input EKA and get mobile using key to unlock etc.
Have now replaced rf module and new remote but still not unlocking etc,am I looking at a door lock actuator issue????the answer may already be on the forum somewhere but as yet not found it!!

but does the dash switch work for the central locking?...what do you mean new remote? cos if it's other than the original it needs programming

Hi sierrafery, yep dash switch works as it should, got remote done yesterday at independent LR garage (£160 worth)all programmed up but they said they would need motor in workshop to sort out problem with central locking, only had one remote anyway and it was getting through one battery a week!!!!
They did check old remote for signal output and it appeared ok!!

Hi Bazza,

Which Independant did you use, i am also in Banbury.

For interest, what did you get for your £160? if its not too cheeky to ask.

Cheers

Neil

Oops missed the second part of your post Neil lol, that was £160 for New 2 button remote, blank blade (key)and programing.

Cheers Bazza,

It was an edit i added, which is why you probably missed it.
If you ever need another key fob programming give me a shout, I may be able to help. Did my own for a total cost of £21. FYI, in case you do not know, the independant key cutters down town near the british heart foundation will cut a blank for you.

Cheers

it's bit suspect for me though... what's certain is that it's not a central locking/door lock issue, can you start the car without using EKA now? cos only if you can it's a prove that the fob is well programmed and tge receiver is good

No fob not doing anything, disconnected battery today for 5 mins or so and on reconnection had to use EKA code to unlock and start etc.

Thanks for that Neil, that's where I got it cut for £6.

Yep same here, he had a busy week with Discovery keys, LOL. although mine only operates the ignition one way, if the key is rotated 180 degrees then it does not turn. Oh well its only a spare.

Bazza,

If you want to try another key fob, give me a shout, we could try my spare on yours by reprogramming it. Just in case.

Cheers

Ok thanks for the offer Neil I'll keep you in mind, and I think my new key only works one way ie ya can't rotate it through 180 degrees!!!!

i must insist on this ... what was programmed as long as they didnt connect the tester to the car to synk the fob with the BCU? ...and as i said there's no problem with the central locking as long as it works on the switch, just checking if the fob emits a signal is equal with nothing... IMO you was ripped off, find somebody with nanocom to programm the fob for you

Hi Bazza,

Did they say why they wanted the car in to fix the central locking? what was wrong / needed changing?

Cheers

They were saying there must be a wiring issue or something which would need investigating but as sierrafery has said if dash button etc works it sounds more like a programing issue.

well, if you want help let me know, may be worth sticking the nanocom on it or trying another key fob.

cheers
