Yes, the little scalectrix motors, as we call them, are the same size in the rear locks as the front. The casings are different so the motors have to be removed if switching them from the rear lock to the front.
brilliant I have my fronts stripped down so need a couple of the scalexric motors cant find any front bits so will buy rears and swap motors out thanks for the quick reply
yes you can replace the motors but cant get them from anywhere but it means that you can buy rear locks and strip down to get the motor to put in the front - rears are about 20 quid a pop on fleabay fronts anything up to 55 quid
