My Nearside Front and Rear door latches have given up, they lock but won't open by the remote fob.

Both failed within a few months of each other. Keen to replace with the better weather - are the Rover 75 latches fully compatible as they do look a good bit cheaper on the auction sites?

Also, when I open the doors from locked with the remote keyfob, a red led light in the dash flashes for a while with beeps. I have just replaced the keyfob battery with a new one, but still get the flashing led and beeps - would this be related to the duff locks?

Cheers if anyone knows

the flashing/beeping definitely and exclusively points to the battery in the remote fob failing. I appreciate that you have changed the battery; however it may some corrosion on the contacts in the fob.

does it do it if you use the other fob ?

Not sure why a Rover 75 door lock assembly should fit a freelander, the doors are totally different in shape etc, they generally only shared mechanicals (td4 engine) would really need to see two side by side to compare, but think it unlikely

ready to be corrected...

I'm gona try one both me back doors don't open on the fob..

The open motor has burnt its armature up.....if it don't fit hopfully the motors are the same:thumbup:
