Does anyone know the part number for the small central dash plate on the early defender. I need the number for the plain one as every one that I search has cut-outs or switches in it.

As always, any help is very much appreciated.

I didn’t think there was a plain one? I though the dash either came with nothing there and it was covered in vinyl, and if you mounted switches or a clock you punch the hole in the vinyl and fit the plate?
The dash had the holes pre-cut but covered with vinyl

Mine has a cigarette lighter socket and the rear window wipe switch mounted but I want to move things around and fit other bits. Its a plastic panel and I am sure I have seen one that is plain. I thought I had found one on paddocks in the past but cant find it now.

Like this one I've got in me shed, metal covered with vinyl, metal also has a rectangular hole in the centre (for a clock I believe)

Ah - I have not seen the covered metal version. What age of vehicle is this from?

My current one is plastic. It has a cigar lighter and rear wiper switch in it. I have fitted a low coolant sensor in it too, but I want to fit a digital temperature gauge in the future so would prefer to have a new one ready for when I alter it to suit as I want to reposition things.

@Dr Strangeglove , it's really easy to make one out of 2-3mm alloy - I've done this, then sprayed with black wrinkle finish paint and mounted a switchable map reading light onto the plate. It's a great addition and tidies up the centre area.
