febmix, don'y use fairy liquid like the farmers do! measure your mix out! ie use a small bucket as Trewey said 4 sand 1 cement, and don't rush the mix!

Im worried Tim, if you dont know how to mix what chance have you got laying blocks, level, plumb, straight and square

No worries John, ive now got a mixer, wasnt sure about mix if its 3-1 0r 4-1, surely 3-1 would be stronger anyway, as for level, plumb, straight and square, i cant see it being a problemIm worried Tim, if you dont know how to mix what chance have you got laying blocks, level, plumb, straight and square

I built a 70ft garden wall about 15 years ago, i know its not the easiest thing to do when its not your trade but im not in a massive hurry to get it done so will take my time
