I'm a cb veteran, with good knowledge of rigs and aerials if anyone needs assistance.

Hi Dr Pepper – Can I take you up on your offer and ask for a bit of advice then please... I have a President Johnson II with a whippy coil 5” aerial. My SWR is excellent over all channels but just the last few weeks have been getting a lot of “interference” on most channels when in the wilds and high in the Black Mountains. It’s not internal but sounds like chatter and the stations calling are using AM call signs and from Italy, Spain and France plus Liverpool and Manchester. I can often hear only one side of the conversations – any ideas? Is this interference or reflections of the radio signal due to the hot weather?

Yep I get lots of Eastern Europeans stations down here. in Zummerzet. usually early mornings.

good site cheers

looks good, nice price!! does it work well!!!

Just finished the fitting in the car, I've made it easily removable to get it out of sight when not in use. I like the idea that when you switch it to country of use, it wont allow use of 'illegal' channels :D

I was also happily surprised to find the wiring for an aux power under the centre arm rest which I am now using :D

Finally thanks for the heads up about SWR (am an ex comms tech too) and I'll be checking it out before TX'ing.
