Hello,
Loving my new Freelander 2005 TD4 (facelift)
Have changed out the radio for a single din radio, installed a io play 2 handsfree, full time rear view camera (camera in in back window, need to move to outside the car), and fitted my dash cam (also in back window, will stay in back window), and got some cross bars ready for the roof for bike racks.
Next thing is CB radio.
Seen some with radios installed in the "glove box" under the steering wheel and the mic mounted on the side of gauges.
I think this looks good but not best for access to change setting ect.
I have the storage box filling the other "free" din of the radio section, this is not much use tbh.
Thinking of getting a cb radio single din adapter and fitting it there. Not sure what to do, however like the "more stealthy" look of in the glove box and the "more rugged" look of been on the console.
Any suggestions?
Now the big questions:
The CB antenna will be mounted on the side roof rails, what is the best way to route the cable to here so that it is hidden as much a possible, worried about a leaking door if go through top of door. I am not drilling ANY holes for ANY cables.
Second:
What is the best place for the rear camera and cable routing?
Thinking of putting it under the top (spare wheel) break light, ideas?
Could hide cable in the plastic of the break light but then need to find a way to get cable in to the car and as said do not want to drill car and want cable hidden, any ideas?
BTW the car has a tow ball and wiring (not sure if it makes a difference so said it anyway).
Also:
Car has running boards fitted,
i think it reduces the clearance slightly, but it does look good, on other hand think would look good with them removed, ideas?
PS. I know a lot of personal prefs but ideas still appreciated.
Thanks
