Depends. bigger rigs can sometimes run more power, but its sometimes a case of all mouth no ears.

Start with that and see how you go.

I run these at the moment :

Not quite a CB... but does 27/81 frequencies (the same your CB does) after programming.

Yeah, it does look it but once you understand it they are pretty simple.

I think, if i was going to go back to a 27/81 CB, there's a few you could concider (although, they all do the same as yours basically, just some have more knobs lol!)

Team 6M-LCD. Had one of these for a while, excellent little rig.

Midland 3001. A bleedbox back in the day, but now, with reduced usage the recieve on them is really good. I do have 2x 2001's (its little brother)

hope you do not operate on this frequency with no ham licence

Depends what you mean Operate.

RX? Yep.
TX? No.

I stick around 27.555, and UK FM bands only for TX.

Besides, my antenna isnt really tuned for that high/low. (and theres nobody there lol!)

(and theres nobody there lol!)

OH yes there is !!

Actually you're technically correct, cos that part of the band is designated for FM use, and I've never heard any body there either !!
28.500 USB being the centre of activity for SSB is much more active, but again only when the band conditions are favourable :)

Anyway... Back on topic..

Cableliquid, glad you got sorted out.
When I get another vehicle sorted and I'm back on air I guarantee you'll hear me cos I regularly go sit at about 1000ft ASL to play radio.
