Hello,

I am thinking of installing 2 CB Aerials, one connected to a Cd radio. I was wondering if it is possible to connect the second one to my music radio ?

Google communications 11 cb site loads of q+a on there
Iirc there has to be a min gap between them

A CB antenna is tuned for CB frequencies. An antenna for radio will be tuned differently so probably won't work.

Why not just use the correct antenna?

A cb aerial works well as a radio aerial. You can get a splitter to run lead to both but dont know why you'd want a dedicated cb aerial for a radio.

There used to be a retractable cb aerial just like a retractable car radio aerial but a bit thicker and if I remember rightly there was a key where you pushed the aerial down and locked it in place to stop scrotes pulling it up and bending it :)

From what i read on google, some people say it will work, some say it wont. The only reason i want to use one is that im going to be putting 2 on the back of my 90 and use one for the CB radio, i just thought that instead of having one doing nothing it can be used and means i dont need to have 3 ariels dotted about the machine haha

you can use them, with a splitter (just use the one output for the stereo) to get the antenna down to a usable impedence for the stereo, its not ideal though, as a CB aerial is the wrong length for FM radio.

Just keep the second one as a spare. Wire it all up but just leave the plug close by the CB radio somewhere. The amount of times aerials get pulled off or broken when used for greenlaning, which then leaves you without an aerial. Plug in the spare one and off you go. Thats what I do anyway :argue:
