I'm tempted to remove the carpets from my '99 110. I quite like the look, especially when re-painted (mine is 'Epsom Green').

As someone recently said, "...carpets just soak up the water and create rust..." 🤣

What are your thoughts?
 
I raptor coated mine to protect it, sound proofed then added the heavy rubber matting from exmoor trim so its quiter on my TDI to get rid of the noise from the transmission tunnle as its plastic and the carpet has sound proofing on the back you need to replace. otherwise lots of noise in the cabin.
 
not a fan they take over a year to dry when i jet wash the interior...:vb-drink:

It helps to take them out first.

I have footwell and tunnel carpets and Exmoor carpet mats all laying over 10mm neoprene foam and Dynamat. The floors, footwells and tunnel are all freshly painted. This might sound overkill but makes the interior a comfortable place to be + mats are removed for vacuuming and cleaning on sunny days. Footwell and tunnel carpets are, when needed, either 1. VAX cleaned in situ, or 2. removed and steam cleaned. In both cases they dry very quickly.

The ladies will love it thicker the better.
 
Depends on how much water you have coming in.
Once under a rubber mat it takes forever to dry out, same with the foam Land Rover stuck on the back.

I have new LR G grade door seals, no sill/step seal, but have added later Puma bottom of door seals to the Ninety and it's near 100% waterproof. I do get some light seepage through the tunnel but it's minimal. All other areas/seams/floors/footwells/seat bases & box I sealed with neoprene foam strip and Tiger Seal. Combined, this set up is very good. The same for the battery box.

carnt be assed, its a tratter so for me just the rubber catch tray mats is all i need
