Hi
I’ve got a Series 3 with a 2.5 petrol engine in it. What carb should be on it ?
I think the previous owner has used a carb off a 2.25
Can you help re
Webber model ?
I’ve been told twin choke then others say not -
Confused !!
Cheers

Mine had a weber 34 single barrel but I changed it for a twin 32/34 iirc.

A couple of pics of the carb would be helpful with the air filter removed, all carbs are stamped with a number to id them.
How do you know its a weber & not a solex or zenith or other.

I swapped the solex on mine with an SU. Best thing i ever did. 2.25 engine but that's not really relevent

Mines is long gone :( I only have oil burners now.
It did totally change the way it drove, especially on the hills quite thirsty as well.

SU gave a vast improvement.
Ran smoother, great mpg and more responsive

Right stop !!!! il be looking for another as this rate lol
I just plodded around the peninsula here mostly 30/40 mph limit after that its all B roads with loads of vans ect
sitting up my ar$e. So just local use for mine. :)

I’ll take a picture tomo and post

Here’s the carb - is this a zenith or copy or Solex?
I want to put a Webber on - it’s a 2.5 engine. What Webber will work and will I need a base plate - seems like there’s one under this carb
Thanks
