Had you been nearer you could have borrowed mine, if only to try to get the thing home :)

Hi Mozz!

I know I know but it was fine for ages, I am sure its marty, cos he was driving it again! I dont have your number mate, can you pm me!

Mozz

Just for your info, and anyone else reading this, just spoke to Avon (thanks for the number) he says the series 1 with the blue label, then you have series 2 which is a series 1 but its shielded and it has a shield label on it, this was used 1999-2002 , he said there series 3 with the green label is 2002 onwards, and he hasn't come across one yet in a car he has broken. He suggests the Series 2 will do it with the shield and its £50

Any thoughts?

I had the interim one (2000), had the usual problems. Never heard of any working properly except the latest YWY500170. Ebay £50 but you have to wait, as others have said. Or pay full price.

Thanks for your help everyone, bit the bullet and got a new one off ebay, thanks for the part number stufer it made searching for it much easier, £160

I know it seems a lot but if you consider that it may well save your door locks getting burnt out as well as avoiding the battery drain issue, etc, then it's worth it. It's also nice being able to lock the motor from the house, instead of having to go out and stand next to it in the peeing rain

Just a quick update for anyone who is interested, ordered the box off ebay, fantastic service, arrived the morning after, went back to the car park where it has been stranded for nearly a week now, plugged it in, and fired up first time!

Problem solved

massive thanks especially to Mozz, who has helped so many people and wouldn't take a penny (well apart from a tesco breakfast!) and also to Stufer for the part numbers.

Hope this thread helps people out in the future

Lesson learned! Listen to the advice your given and dont put it off!!

hi pewee hope yoiu got a genuine one for that price ,,,,who did u get it off ?????????? im glad your sorted ..cheers mate and regards to marty ,,,,,,,,.mozz

Yes Mozz, was a Genuine one! as stufer said, worth the money just to know the bloody thing will start now no matter where i park it. to be honest thinking about selling it as I never use it, and most of its use is my mates borrowing it! spent a fortune on it though as you know, full suspension airbags all round, full mot, al brake pipes renewed, spent over £2000 on it, and I know I won't get anywhere near my outlay for it, but at the same time, its costing me insurance, tax etc as a second car which I never bloody drive!

should also add, which I forgot about I have just had a set of GG AT2 fitted all round, cost me a fortune and only done about 300 mile since! if anyone interested in a bargain let me know!
