Any recommendations for a car alarm and immobilizer for a 90? I know thieves will bypass it if they are that determined but the wife wants one anyway and it can't harm I don't think. She'd like a remote starter on it as well for those freezing mornings up here to warm the car ready for her. I know Landy drivers are supposed to be tough but my wife is 60 in July (it was originally going to be a birthday present for her) and living on top of a mountain as high as we are it gets very cold.

My mechanic is going to install other security features like fuel cutoffs, a snap off steering wheel etc and we're also going to use a SafeTPedal. I figure the better protected it is the easier I will sleep at night as I haven't had much since last Saturday when I bought it for her. If anyone has any other recommendations for tighter security i'd appreciate it. If it's a trade secret not to be posted on the open forum please PM me. My wife has fallen in love with this 90 and if anything happened to it it would break her heart and mine along with it.

Thanks in advance to anyone kind enough to offer advice.

I'm not sure but will thatcham do one as a kit

got a factory thatcham 2 on my hippo

i belive if u get them done by a professional it can also save on the insurance

would a hidden battery cut off switch help and there's also the battery disconnected too,mw here u take the bolt out and it cuts the starter motors power ????

Yeah my mechanic chappie is installing a battery cut off switch, fuel cut off switch all that malarky. My insurance is peanuts as it is, any savings would be minimal but well received.

Hello

I've got the toad ai606 on mine and it's very good. Double circuit immob etc so it's a cat 1. It also has a couple of spare buttons which can be wired to so various things including starting the car I think.

wouldnt the fuel cut off switch and battery isolator be a slight hindrance to a remote starting kit?

ahhhh "you" are the remote start kit for it ;)

That's for when it's parked up away from home. At home it's in the garage with a heavy duty roller shutter door.

Will the insurance company like it ticking over unattended with the garage door open? I gather they tend not to pay out for vehicles that are left with the engine running and get stolen.

Its so depressing to know there are many thieving scum out there up and down the country, just waiting for a chance to steal your much treasured Landy, it does affect the way I use mine, shes rarely out of sight when I take her out but if she is then I remove the rotor arm and steering wheel and take these with me. I intend to fabricated/weld a wheel clamp before I use her this spring! If she were to be stolen ID be inconsolable!! Kind regards. Chris

yer terrier is a good atart, make loads of noise. Enough to wake the doberman. You do want some blood and bits left behind so the police can nab the guilty for a change

I always find it best when fitting a covert device (Tracker) to show pictures of the actual device and to have Tracker wrote all over it, The shape of the ariel, what the bundle of wires look like and even what the relay looks like so you know which one to pull!!!
