Hello everybody, its me again, Captain dumb ass.
Just spent 45 minutes trying to get these flamin wheel nut covers off:mad: , completely butchered one of them before deciding have a quick look in the manual... and i need a special wheel nut cover removal tool.
I can't seem to find this tool on anywhere. Am i not looking hard enough? Could someone please point me in the right direction? Or is there an alternative method?

P.s. sprayed wd40, wriggled and loosened some of them with footprints and pliers and a spanner and a claw hammer. Some of them are loose, i just can't pull them off. Except the locking wheel nut ones which just pull off by hand.

Thanks in advance

They're not supposed to come off. the std disco wheel brace or a flat sided 27mm socket will fit straight over them. only the locking wheelnut covers are supposed to come off. The special tool is a plastic tube with a lip for removing the locking wheel nut covers.

Excellent. Cheers redhand. They say you learn from your mistakes and if this is true, i'll be f**kin expert soon!

Ryan, you are not alone mate, I had the same problem a few weeks back, did exactly the same as you an got mad  wiv myself when I marked the alloys !!

:clap2: :clap2: Well done RyanP & Gwyn you've made my night:hysterically_laughi :hysterically_laughi :hysterically_laughi

we live & learn eh!!

Thanks all!!!
I've just joined, had my Disco for two weeks and thanks to you guys have not bought the tool I nearly bought from ebay or spent 45 mins trying to get them off.
Going for a leisurely stroll to the car spares shop for a 27mm socket!
Thanks again
Emenbee

A 11/8" socket will do just as well as the 27mm socket. But, Knock yourself out with whatever makes you happy, but please remember the socket is only as good as the handle. You will need a good bar type handle to apply enough pressure to release them squeaky tight lugs.

There are heavier duty 27mm wheel braces on fleabay, £5 or so plus postage. Worth getting to put in the vehicle. The standard one isn't too bad, but the heavier-duty ones are longer and give more leverage.

See ebay # 370104527881

Note that nut sizes vary with wheel types. We had a set of 4 RR Sport 19" rims when we got the Disco, they were 22mm A/F.

Thank you LandyZone! I've just wasted the entire afternoon picking away with a variety of useless tools trying to get the f*****g wheel nut covers off my Disco wheel nuts... And now I learn they are not meant to come off!

My kingdom for a Defender with ordinary rims with ordinary no nonsense wheel nuts!
