I recently purchased a Freelander 1998 soft Top. There was no booklet and i had great difficulty in taking the soft top down. I eventually managed to undo the roof clips with a claw hammer. I cannot now get them back. There appears to be a trinagular bolt which may loosen the clips but i'm not sure. Do you need a special key. I hope someone can help before it rains!

Welcome astapley!

The special key your looking for SHOULD be in the fuse compartment,
RH side glove box
Let hope the savaging you gave it with yer hammer aint bust out

Oh heck - that bits supposed to stay fastened on even if you want the roof folded, it comes forward not back.

Hi mondo,

why not post a picture of it ?? (If I had a 3dr. and such a key was in the fuse compartment in my LH side glove box I'd done it long time already.)

Erm about here i would have thought ???

Note the missing key,.. I dont have a soft top willo,
so i is only assuming

Yes they are good pictures,

No doubt you did, but mind you, one of these days I'm going to start trying myself as well, watch the posts the day that happens..
