really can't decide what to do with this now, had it nearly a year now an its been nothing but trouble, i love the way its looks an drive, but fed up with spending money on it,

the head gasket went on it a wile back, (took to local landy guy) an he done the one side, (i said do both, but said didn't need it) any way ever since ive had it back its been trouble, had new rad, water pump, stat an a hose, bought this for towing an its spent more time on my trailer then towing it, drive's ok but boils when towing, any way done a leak test an the head gasket has gone,

now im really stuck on what to do, do i spend even more money on fixing it, or break it. all so the mot is out soon so might be even more money, i know it needs 2 new tyres.

dont wanna sell it as it is as i'll get sod all for it,

anyway just thought id put this on here to hear ur views, for piece of mind.

here she is

If you can do the jobs yourself Rangies are ok, if you can't they can be a money pit. Only you can decide what to do with it. If you break it everything you have spent up to now is money down the drain.

Don't sound worth the money IMO mate

You will get better money breaking it up, then just flog the shell as scrap weight

What year, engine size etc. I would fix it, do both head gaskets and then you could sell it. Breaking takes ages to strip off all the bits and sell them individually.

If not Fett is looking for scrap blocks!

Breaking can take months and you have to deal with the carcass on your drive. When it comes to the engine and gearboxes it will also sit in a pool of oil....if you have your own business premises then fine but "not in my back garden"

If you've spent a large amount already you might as well go through with it and get it sorted. If you have another vehicle to use in the mean time in takes the pressure off and you're more likely to do a good job yourself rather than rushing on a rainy weekend. It's a nice looking machine to!

Having said all that look at buying a donor vehicle for all your bits and pieces, sell what you don't want off it then down to the scrapper. The key is probably seeing yours as a project vehicle for a while, using the missuses car/bus for a while until yours is just how you want it.

If you're not a die Hard RR fan then maybe sell as is and put the money on a deposit for something else.

With those RAD blocking lights in front of the grill, I'm not surprised it overheats. The cooling system is marginal at the best of times.

That's true --- plus the extra weight from that nudge bar to! Why not sell those and put it toward a new head.

had the same problem with mine. I did all thge work and one of the stetch bolts worked loose and had to do it again, and replace all tyhe hoses and the read and thermostat.
Its now in pieces again this time for a new cam shaft, oil pump and timing chains.
Its a simple block.
All you need is a good 3/8 and 1/2 inch metric socket set and a few basic tools and thats it.

Come on, stretch bolts don't work loose. People do miss them when torqueing the head down though. The head bolts are not metric they are 7/16 UNC 5/8 AF. Using a 16 mm socket on them specially a bihex can knacker them up. :D:D:D
