PG1 is not unique - a few rovers use it.

Fort the Hippo one was a bit different and that's why you can't just drop a 220 turbo in there easy as pie?

Otherwise you can bet your granny's muffin's I'd do that. But you're still pretty much limited to Rover injuns :(.

220 mates to the KV6 PG1 - the 220 uses a version of it (with LSD). just need to change the input shaft, I understand.

Urgh my head :confused::scratching_chin::confused:.....

So....if you had a K series Hippo then you could buy a KV6 PG1 from a manual rover and then mate the 220 up to that??? How would you fix the IRD bracket to it?

See this is why it's attractive to just drop a 1.8T in there :).

That's where yu need to ask one of the guys that's done it :).

Maybe they just use it mondo? With LSD?

not all this again :(

ffs do a search :rolleyes::p

Yep, and it always hits the same wall. Looks to me like it's not possible without major fabrication of custom brackets etc which I'm not going to do. Frankly if re-torquing solves it I'll be leaving it at that.

It has to be possible cos the available info is so close, it just needs someone to actually start doing it. ;)

this, however, will not be me :eek:

Nor me. If this sorts it then it'll time to save for a tratter project. Possibly a mortgage too.

K-Series 300 Turbo
The BBR K-Series 300 Turbo conversion is aimed at the driver who wants the ultimate performance from this mini 4x4. When we fit this to your K-Series you'll be the envy of everyone, on-road and off!

The 300bhp engine at the heart of this conversion was developed and built originally for the Maclaren chief designer, Adrian Newey. This astonishing power output from the K-Series engine gave his Lotus Elise performance comparable to the world's fastest super cars and the same power to weight ratio as the Maclaren F1 road car!
Component parts are now available and all of these are either designed in-house by our own engineers or produced to our specification.

Is it an ali head? If so separate the head and weigh that in separate to the engine as ali is worth more

Make sure there is no oil in it too... scrap yards will be ****ed with you if it does.

Even then though, a stripped engine (i.e. no ancillaries on it) weighed in is only likely to fetch £30.
