hi,guy's haven't been on for a while, car was running dandy until now,the problem now is the alarm keeps going off outside house in driveway usally from 12 throughto the morning maybe going off three or four times which is a pain in the arse, dosent go off anywhere else,it sits at work all day without going off, just at the house,my question is can i leave the car unlocked at night does it do anything to the becm,i know the car is meant to go to sleep, what would happen if i just never locked car,and the car is safe in driveway'before sombody say it will get stolen, cheer's pat

Mine locks itself if left! As MHM say's, probably the RF receiver is picking up stray signals or has developed a fault.

If you unlock it, then don't touch it, it will re- lock itself after 2 mins. You will have to unlock, open door and then leave it. But saying that. It's best to disconnect the aerial as stated.

I wasnt aware that the rf receiver picking up stray signals would set off the alarm.I was under the impression that the BECM was just woken up,which leads to a flat battery if it happens too often.

Have you tried shooting next doors cats?

For some reason they leave my RRC alone but I've had to disconnect the alarm on the old Jaguar. The buggers seem to like rubbing up against it. They use it as a sunbathing platform during the day, and sleep under it at night. They must have some sort of affinity with the mascot on the bonnet.

Johnny.
