Hi There. I am in need of a "registration pack" for a diesel landrover, only stipulation is that it needs to be 30 years old, although not tax exempt. So, after 72 and up to 76 is ideal.

Ideally, a pair of tatty numberplates, V5 (new or old style) and the chassis plate. Grateful thanks and a bit of wonga awaits! Discretion assured, as they say in the "funny" ads!

Please help if you can. Regards.

Hey, come on lads? Just trying to get rid of the dreaded "Q" before I register my jeep here in Ireland, where I am now living. I just need a book to hand in, they have a very quick look at the vehicle, cancel the UK reg permanently, and give me my new Irish numbers. Nothing involving theft - anyone who steals a Landy, or parts from one, should have a rope tied to their balls and be towed around until they part company!

Yes, they do appear on ebay, but, only the tax exempt ones, because of the tax fiddle, which are worth big dosh. I am honest enough not to be going for this. I think 75 quid for a book should be enough, given that you can buy a whole Landrover for not much more.

Anyone want to go halves? You have the Landy to break, I get the reg?

I hadn't realised what a bible-bashing, "oh my God, just not cricket", "yes my 24 year old daughter is definately a virgin" crowd you fellas are! I thought you were more like a 4X4 version of the Hell's Angels?

Bit of fun anyway, light-hearted and cheerful.

Anyway, has anyone got an FFFFFFing logbook?

Tuttah, Very Mucky Fingers!

if you are permanantly exporting a Q vehicle to eire, why cant they cancel the Q plate and issue an irish plate?
i fail to see the difference?

"Q" equals vehicle of indeterminate age = register as brand new = don't bother, scrap it for spares.

Grab a logbook = no questions asked = joy = roll a fag and cruise along these beautiful lanes = my old friend that's been with me over six years can live forever..............

Easy-peazey, just do it? Get on with life, get down the pub, buy the wife some flowers when it's not her birthday (try it!) Swear the Landy knows when it's appreciated, running so smooth, just got up that hill in top; sure I had to change down last time. BLISS

Please, anyone got a V5?

Too much trouble with "q", not least with insurance here. Anything outside the norm just gets you bogged down. It's said the British invented bureaucracy - I say the Irish perfected it!

Even if I have buy buy another wreck, it's the way to go - trouble is ferry costs make the whole thing a nightmare. Someone must be breaking one?

how dare you call my daughter a virgin, i broke her in meself ;)

oh grunter, how could you, its our family tradition that we take our own daughters cherry, how will i ever hold my head up high again ;)

Q stands for Query, as in vehicles identity is in question. Now this may not be for an illegal reason, say if you smashed your car up and fixed it yourself with salveged parts, if a percentage of the parts that go on equal X amount of the car, it has to be re-reg'sd on a Q plate. Provided of course you tell the DIVVY, sorry DVLA.
Been there done that, nightmare. never again. Id rather buy a gaylander......
Maybe not.

Having established that Landy drivers are so ugly they would have to bone their own daughters, and that I'm not a tea leaf, anyone got a V5?

Sorry I called a LR a Jeep! Will wash mouth out with alcohol.
