Hello yet again
Excuse my mechanical ignorance but can anyone tell me what this part is called.
2003 td4 freelander
The piece in question is the round silver piece with the bolt/threaded rod through it.

That's the gearbox mount

I guess it should have a proper bolt through it and not a piece of threaded rod?

Yes it should have a bolt and locking nut.

That is quality, it does make you wonder what lead people to make the decisions they did when they 'fixed' you car previously.

If you don't already have a name for your Freelander - you must choose one on a Frankenstein theme

Probably lost the original bolt after taking it off.
