Please can someone help, we've not long bought a Disco1 300tdi, it's been great but we needed to change the cambelt.
So we bought a cam belt kit for £80+. We ask a known garage to us to fit it. We've used this garage for some time and they've always been good.
We got a phone call from them saying that after fitting the cambelt the motor run for 40 minutes, then stopped. They opened up the engine and found that the idler pulley had seized up and snapped the cambelt. They said the pulley had burn marks on it and was faulty.
We rang the supplier and they said that the kit was an upgrade kit and that the garage hadn't removed the washer before fitting the pulley. Thus causing the pulley to fail. They had had this happen before many times and it had always been that the garage hadn't removed this washer.
The garage said he'd done these before and had removed the washer.
Who do I believe??????? We have spent all our money and don't know what to do.
