Hello

I would like to make a seat organiser to hang over the back of the drivers seat in my Freebie 1. Unfortunately my Freebie is in the garage so I was wondering if any kind person here could measure the back of the seat for me? I need the height and both the top and bottom widths.

Thanks in advance!

Regards

Ian

Because I am a neat freak and like things to fit properly! I do a lot of travelling, camping and European driving so I have lots of things I like (or am required) to keep within reach, without clogging up the gloveboxes.

And also because I dont want to buy a generic seat organiser!

At the very top where the seat rounds off there is

4cm of flat area outside the head restraint posts either side and

14 cm between the posts ..hope this helps ;)

my wife is at work or I would check for you but I think the cloth seats are a bit thinner than the leather ones but if you are stuck I can do it tonight

Hi Teddywood

Thanks for the offer, but its just the back measurement I needed. I'm not making a seat cover, just a thing to hang from the headrest posts over the back of the seat and tie at the bottom, with lots of pockets for various things.

FYI

This is a basic 2d image of what I am making. It is all to scale and I have measured everything thats going into it. Its not suitable for everyone and to be honest, most wont like it, but I do and thats all that matters to me! Its all going to be black cordura nylon, the black and grey in the pic is just to show the different pockets etc.

Its not going to be plain though, my neighbour does custom embroidery with a computer controlled sewing machine so each thing will be labelled appropriately. As a graphic designer, I might even come up with symbols instead of just words.

Regards

Ian

I noticed you are putting a torch in there I always carry a torch that can be wound up to recharge it as especially in the winter time the batteries go flat

Yes, mine is also a wind up torch. I'll only be using the lightsticks for emergencies as they are military grade and extremely bright.

TBH the hi-viz vests are a bit over the top but where we go in france, the plod demand they are within reach and not in the boot in case of accidents. Anywhere in the main cabin is fine but they prefer the glovebox. Mine has a more important role, a chocolate containment facility!

I have a dual action wind up/ rechargeable torch that I keep next to my in-boot charging socket I fitted
