thanks both... quick question.. I've found MuddyMods and powerfuluk as decent sites for Freelander bits and bobs... any other sites you can recommend? I've found most of the bits I want, it's just side steps I need... any advice is welcome..

Welcome:)

Before you start on the mods, give it a real good check over you may spend your money getting it right.
Not putting a dampener on your excitement just being realistic ;).
Have a search around the hippo section for checks that should be done, loads of info and good guys to help in there.

Completely agree. Luckily I live next door to a landrover garage so they said they would check it out. And was planning on giving the engine a **clean** also... will also have a look at this hippo section..

The 'cleaning' process you refer to is a waste of time. Spend yer sovs on making sure it's serviced propper instead.

@Hippo - what makes you say that, surely it cleans something..? I've had it done on my Subaru and that worked a treat and yes although I can't tell much difference with the Freelander at the mo, it may prolong it somehow?

And yep, it does have full service history and a stamped book. The landrover garage next door gave it a once over and the only problem was the oil needed topping up and spare tire needs changing - so I think I lucked out..

Not sure Terrorclean would benefit if the car has had regular fuel and filter changes and the odd long run, modern fuels don't coke up so much anyway

There's peeps who are for and against it. I personally don't see what benefit there is to adding a pulsed mist of water to the air intake of an engine. Lot's of video's of peeps believing it on youtube. Terraclean is a brand name for the process. Many others do the same thing and change for it anorl. If you crack open an engine you rarely see the lumps of coal some peeps think are left behind in the normal petrol/diesel combustion process. For many years I was told my FL1 v6 would be wrecked by constant short trips. When opening it up is was amazingly clean inside at 42k miles with little wear.

A certain company brand flooded us and everywhere else with dodgy customer reviews and then threatened to sue when they were called out.

They can :mad::mad: off
